LearnToRide.ORG Coaches - Rick Culpepper
Rick Culpepper has been a RiderCoach for two years and loves coaching and helping students develop their riding skills and learn to ride safely.

Rick has been in the software business for about 30 years. He’s held jobs from programming to technical support to sales support. In his spare time, Rick likes to ride or tinker with his Harley (surprise!); mess around with computer hardware and software; read science fiction, fantasy and current events; play his guitar; spend time with his family and friends; barbecue; listen to good music (that means everything from classical to alternative to jazz to new age but not country!); build scale model cars and motorcycles; play Guitar Hero III; and do a bit of volunteer work for charity.

Rick has had a lifelong love of motorcycles. However, he never owned one until 1996 when he bought his first, a black 1994 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom. Today, Rick rides a black and red 2007 H-D Road Glide. He and his wife, Amy, who rides her own 2007 H-D Heritage Classic, enjoy riding together every chance they get and anywhere they can. You will likely find Rick riding his bike to and from work and riding with Amy to HOG Chapter meetings, down the Natchez Trace and on the back roads of Middle Tennessee.

Rick is the father of six children - four boys and two girls - ranging in age from 25 down to 8 (as of early 2008). Yes, Rick realizes that he has contributed more than his fair share to the gene pool. In fact, he was ordered out of the gene pool after his youngest was born in 2000.

The 20th century is a new experience for Rick where he gets to relive his lost childhood. So, let’s just say you won’t see Rick sitting still very often!

In June of 2007, Rick traded for a new H-D Road Glide which he has made "his own" through some extensive customization. He is very proud of his bike and even managed to get it featured on the cover of an online biker magazine in December of 2007!

Once a year, Rick and Amy ride with friends to a bike rally somewhere in the U.S. In 2006 and 2007, it was Myrtle Beach Bike Week. In 2008, they are planning an ambitious, two-week trip from Nashville up Highway 31 to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, into Canada and around Lake Superior, then back into the U.S. through Wisconsin and Minnesota to the Fall Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota with a return planned through Wyoming and Colorado where they'll stop off to see an old riding buddy who moved out west. By the time they return home, they expect to have logged about 4500 miles in two weeks. Sweet!

Motorcycles: Rick's current ride is a 2007 Black and red Harley Davidson FLTR Road Glide.
